We got this lovely notice in the post over Christmas, which was a rather nice present. This means that our application has been approved (not to be confused with the visa being approved…)
If effect, this means that they are going to send the application onwards to the embassy in London to be processed. It is confirmation that we haven’t forgotten anything important, or failed to provide enough evidence with our forms.
In reality, it means I need to go and get some vaccinations. We will get notification that the package has been sent to the embassy, but the next main contact we will have is when the embassy send a date for me to go for a medical. Whilst I don’t have to have had my vaccinations by then, it saves hassle and money to have had them at my GP’s beforehand, rather than when I am in the states.
There is plenty else that will need to be done, but one step at a time…

I think I pretty much need tetanus, diphtheria, flu and MMR jabs, so nothing too crazy! I’ve had some already but need boosters.
